Short Update, that stage with too many subsets

So in MMD models (at least, idk about the others) there’s this thing where a model (be it a person or a stage or anything else) has multiple subsets. The more subsets the merrier for someone who likes to edit them, especially the original artist especially when they plan to make future releases. Kinda like having eveyrthing categorized well for future ease.

But sometimes, when a stage gets really detailed you end up with more than a hundred. Now to be fair, my own model edits are in this category. Basically what I’m trying to say is, there’s this one stage where I need to remove a few things in MMD by disabling their subsets (i.e. making them invisible) and it isn’t a quick and easy job when 1.) there’s a lot of them 2.) subsets aren’t labelled and 3.) I have to do it again in different tabs with global effects (i.e. Postpoint lighting, Autoluminous, etc.)  which makes me think I should have made things a lot easier for myself removing those stuff in pmx editor, right?

Well, it’snot always the case.  Sometimes, certain things you don’t want to be removed are also tied to the stuff that you do want to be removed, say for example you want to take off this model’s necklace except that everything in that subset also includes the rest of their jewelry which you don’t want to be invisible. So sometimes it’s better to just remove them in pmx editor and sometimes it’s just better to disable the subsets.

OK I’m an idiot, wit that logic, I should have just removed it then XD

Stupid me.

Anyway what I was working on was a city stage.  In the end the barn didn’t work well for me because it was so dingy and plain it just hurt looking at it. So it’s better if it was a festively designed city. Well, it’s not festively designed yet but that can be worked on, but for a barn, you don’t expect to see streamers and stuff there.

Time to get back to work dressing up that stage then the character interactions.
