Working on the Center Screens (Already)
When you think about it, I’ve only started on this project three days ago… guess I’ve become faster, huh? (o wo)/
There’s stil a few stuff to work on when it comes to the stage but now it’s time to start creating the center screens, which I need to divide between the girls. Now of course I am very aware that given that I’ll be chopping it up and mixing footage around that at least one girl will have less center screen time compared to the others, but that is no longer my concern.
Y U CHANGE MODLE(sic)?
So quite a few were, let’s not say they completely disliked the idea of me using a different model for Rin, but basically amounted to the same thing someone would say when putting on a new pair of shoes. That’s what it really is. No, I won’t be using the old model of Rin anymore, except for maybe some satirical purposes.
I find it absurd that the old model has been pretty much revered as canon when it is in fact, just a derivative piece of equipment. Yes, equipment.
Kodomo no Jikan only has two official forms, the manga and the anime, neither of which are in 3d, so to have any shred of a notion that it holds any form of canonicity is worth being regarded with extreme ridicule.
Meanwhile, I decided to look up Rin’s other derivative works, such as 2D pics and certain other 3D works and boy I don’t see any “omg, how DARE you not draw her just like in the manga/anime or use the Kakomiki model”
You know when this game came out, I never heard anyone say “omg what a sellout! should’ve stuck to 2D graphics.” I’m sure someone has thought of that but it was drowned out by the fact that it was clearly a superior game compared to it predecessors.
To sum it up, the new model I’m using is not only clearly superior to the old one, but it’s just as canon as the old one since neither were created by the original artist. So there, you go. I can’t take opinions against using her seriously.
Now of course, nothing against anyone who thinks otherwise, but I’m going to need some really solid facts in how an inferior model with less features and even less vertices is going to stack up, especially when I have established enough statistics to show how it’s a moot point.
Not even trying to bring up Project Rin will work because even her model didn’t really do anything to separate itself from other works. You what did? The stripping, the timing, stage gags, the plot, those were the things that did the actual heavy lifting that set that video as memorable. The environment that Rin was in and the context it was presented in was what set itself away from others. Which is why nobody could really compare other “lesser” works that in fact use the exact same model.
I’ll leave this here as a something to think about.
If you know your history…
Anyway, back to work, stay wiggly!
