Making a non-human character act human

So I’m working on the scene where Don Duck solicits May for his club or something like that. Of course, given that his beak is a bone and not a facial, it also means that the standard motions of talking that I could easily copy paste and mix around will not work on him. His already different bone structure non withstanding.

What did they say? Yes, pick a gesture and have them repeat it. So I found one “habit” for Don Duck, adjusting his Fedora.

So I went back to the basics, thinking back to what cartoonists did to give character to their creations without relying on speech. Something I should have done a long time ago since my videos are hardly ever voiced at all.

So there’s Don Duck waving that wad of bills around. Have May walk past him or not even notice him at all. Not sure yet if she just snubs him or doesn’t notice him since he’s so short… Not sure yet.

Also, I need to do something about that pool area, maybe have a wall of leaves block the view or something so I don’t have to put back that crowd of people bathing and frolicking in the pool.

So how will this turn out? A pill slipped into her drink? We’ll see!

That’s it for now, stay wiggly! ~emoji31_by_emoji_icon-d6kvby0~
